Siberian cats, though extremely popular and very well known, are actually very rare in the US and some other countries. A Siberian cat is an excellent pet and a very loyal cat; however, the first Siberian kitten was introduced to the US in 1990 and as of the time of this writing, there are waiting lists for breeders of Siberian kittens. Available Siberian kittens are usually found through local breeders, though you may have to travel to find a breeder. Since the species is so new to the US, if you live there you will have to do a lot of research for Siberian cat breeders. When you find Siberian kittens for sale, do not be surprised if you are asked to wait up to a few years for a kitten. The breed is so new and so popular that finding Siberian cats for sale that you can take home immediately are very, very rare.

So why is this kind of cat so popular? Well, for starters, the Siberian cat breed is very beautiful. They are fairly large cats and are considered to be semi-longhaired. This is because the Siberian cat – also called the Siberian Forest cat – has a longer, denser coat in the winter; in the summer, he will shed some of his coat and it will become thinner and a little shorter. If you have a Siberian cat, rescue from winter cold will hardly be an issue since his coat is very dense.

There are many, many different colors of Siberian. It is what is referred to by the Cat Fancier’s Association as a “natural cat”, meaning that it occurred naturally and was not bred specifically from other breeds of cat. This cat is native to Russia, though its actual lineage is vague. As a Siberian cat is a natural cat, its coat can come in almost any color imaginable for a cat – you can even find white Siberian kittens!

The personality of the Siberian cat is friendly and loyal. A Siberian cat will often act like a dog, following his owner around the house from room to room. In fact, there are several examples of true dog lovers falling in love with their Siberian cat. Siberian cats are also quite agile. Siberian cat toys are like any other cat’s toys; there are really no special needs for a Siberian cat. Siberian cat health is also surprisingly good for a purebred cat.
