If you are familiar with Sphynx cats, then you are not surprised by their appearance. However, many people who have never seen a Sphynx cat before are often enthralled by the way they look. When people whoa re not familiar with Sphynx kittens first see a Sphynx kitten, they may think that the kitten is much younger than he actually is.

So why all of the confusion among those who are not familiar with the Sphynx cat? Well, the Sphynx cat is a hairless cat. While he is an excellent pet, he looks a little strange to people who have never seen him before. Sphynx cat breeders have developed the Sphynx cat from an accidental birth in Toronto, Canada in 1966. When the first hairless Sphynx kitten was born, he was actually a genetic mutation. Over the years, Moon Sphynx cats, the pointed Sphynx cat and the black Sphynx kitten have all been developed from breeding a Sphynx with a coated cat and then breeding them again to become hairless.

Sphynx kittens for sale are very rare. Finding a Sphynx kitten for sale or a Sphynx cat for sale will take a lot of research as they are a very popular but very rare breed; Don Sphynx cats for sale are even rarer. Most breeders have a waiting list for their Sphynx kittens. This waiting list can be as long as a few years because of the way the cats have to be breed. So keep this in mind when you are looking to purchase Sphynx cats.

But why are these cats so popular? They are certainly odd looking, and don’t seem like they would be very soft or cuddly. In fact, Sphynx cats often appear to be angry or irritated. However, this may just be they way they look because the Sphynx cat is actually quite friendly. He is very good with people and also gets along well with other pets. If you have another cat or a dog, the Sphynx cat should get along fine with them.

Because of their lack of fur, the Sphynx cat can get cold. Cats with fur are often warmer than people are, but the Sphynx cat feels cold the same way people do. Luckily, the Sphynx cat knows to find his owner to curl up with when he is cold. He will also seek out your bed or a blanket to crawl under if need be.
